HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Have you ever had a dream to start your own business? A mother-daughter team in Hamden decided to go for it two years ago and have built Moon Rocks Gourmet Cookies with all natural ingredients. The idea is to build it in Connecticut and then franchise it all over the country.
Cynthia Rae, a graduate of culinary school, developed a killer chocolate cookie, which people raved about for years. Now, there are at least 25 different flavors.
“It’s really important for us to encourage other people to start their businesses, you’re never too old, you’re never too young, I run into new entrepreneurs and they say I don’t have enough experience, but you have passion,” said Marni Rae-Esposito.
The duo is constantly giving back to the community and has even helped start other food businesses by renting out their kitchen.
“It’s not work. It’s the American Dream. I’ve been waiting all my life to give Moon Rocks to the world,” said Cynthia.
Cynthia and Marni just set a new record of cookies made on one day, 1,300! You can find out more on their website.
