(WTNH)–Kathy Granfield is giving back to the men and women who serve our country in her own way–with fishing trips. She heard about the high suicide rate among those in the military, and knew she needed to do something.
So, in 2009, Kathy started taking veterans fishing on her boat for free, to help them get away and to allow them to talk to others who have served and maybe work some things out.
When she’s not helping our veterans, she’s in the classroom in North Branford, teaching eighth grade science.
