(WTNH)–On this edition of “Nyberg,” Elena Rossini, who traveled from Paris, France, to come on, talks about an issue which she is so passionate about. Body image, and how marketing shows perfection when it is impossible.
Rossini, a documentary filmmaker, has spent about seven years traveling the world to produce “The Illusionists.” It is about the marketing of unattainable beauty ideas from around the world. She did the film on a shoestring budget, but because of the topic, people were drawn to her.
She is currently screening her film globally.
“It often seems to me that a person who seems happy and secure isn’t going to be a very good consumer,” Rossini said.
She said she got messages of support about the film from people everywhere, including a California father who was so inspired by the film’s message that he was able to get her an interview on NPR.
When this segment was recorded, Rossini had just come from Harvard, where they wanted to spread her message as well.
