(WTNH) — Jessica Oen and Stephania Halverson have a passion for baking. This year, they waded into their small business venture and The Drunk Alpaca was born.
Oen’s mother has an alpaca farm and the girls were having some margaritas when they decided on the name of the business. Currently, the pair is taking their baked goods to farmer’s markets all around Connecticut, but the dream is to someday have a bakery of their own.
Right now, they’re making delectable delights in a commercial kitchen in Stratford.
They do sweet and savory items and their techniques they use in the kitchen, they learned from their grandmothers.
“We kind of set up our business to start off small with the farmer’s markets so we can kind of see what the customers want, what towns work for us, so that way when we do open up a successful brick and mortar, we know exactly the clientele and where we’re wanted most.”
Their number one seller is their Guiness Brownies.
